About the Joe’s Valley Fest

  • Joe’s Valley Fest Mission: Enhance the local economy, build community and drive sustainability by bringing rock climbers and locals together around our shared enthusiasm for the outdoors

  • Joe’s Valley Fest, Inc. is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization. In addition to the annual Fest, this organization supports year-round youth programs and Joe’s Valley Coalition stewardship activities.

Role Summary

  • Create and share social media content, web page updates and printed material updates to support the Fest and the overall non-profit activities.

  • Part-time contractor role (averaging ~10 hours per month - minimal early/late year, peak leading up to Fest)

  • Start date ASAP

Role Compensation

  • $3,000 annual pay (can be paid monthly, quarterly or lump sum)

  • Fest ticket, including swag bag, Fest shirt and staff shirt

Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Create and share organic social media content in support of the Fest and year-round stewardship and youth program work; ensure aligned with scheduled paid social content managed by our marketing firm

  • Monitor and manage Joe’s Valley Fest social media accounts including responding to messages in a timely manner, reposting tagged content as appropriate

  • Fulfillment of ad hoc web page updates

  • Fulfillment of ad hoc printed material updates (flyers, posters, etc.)

  • Periodic updates to EventBrite or equivalent ticket sales platform to support changes needed outside scheduled updates from marketing firm

  • Coordinate with head photographer to ensure appropriate content is gathered to required schedule

  • Monthly attendance at All Hands Meeting

  • Physical attendance at the Joe’s Valley Fest (Oct 3-6, 2023)

Required Qualification

  • Experience in creating and coordinating organic social media content

  • Knowledge of Adobe or similar software to support updates to print and digital content, aligned with the organization’s brand guidelines

  • Ability to execute web page updates

  • Strong organizational skills, exhibited in a professional manner

  • Ability to work effectively within a remote team with minimal supervision

  • Acts in accordance with standards and values of the organization

  • A high level of integrity, dependability and enthusiasm

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • 3+ years of professional social media or related experience

  • Experience / knowledge within the outdoor industry, with a climbing focus

  • Knowledge of the Joe’s Valley Fest, including attendance at previous events

  • Proficient in Adobe and Google Suite applications
